Club Presentation Evening – November 2017
At the club’s annual presentation evening on 25th November 2017 Zack was presented with Player of the Year for the second year in a row for gaining the most points in judo competitions (almost 100 points more than the second-place judoka).

He was also awarded the Coaches Award sponsored by the Teal Family. In presenting the award the coaches said “This award is generally given to a player that has shown outstanding achievement, this can seen from the names on the trophy…This year is no different….. However to match the competitive success it has been great to see this player offer support mat side to his team mates and comfort them too. Winning Gold at every Home Nation and Area Pre-Cadet Ranking event for the whole of 2016 and 2017, 3 times consecutive British national champion Zack Morrison”.

British Judo Championship – December 2017
Zack competed in the British Judo Championships on 2nd December 2017 and won gold. He scored maximum points in each contest. This is an impressive performance as he is in the first year of the cadet age group (under 18 years and he is 14). https://www.facebook.com/BishopsStortfordJudo/posts/438383136558467

This is Zack’ fourth consecutive National Gold and his fifth national medal (he won silver in his first national championship in 2013.

Zack continues to be a role model and inspiration to his fellow judoka. Following the recent British Judo Championships parents sent messages saying:
  • “….it was Zack that told Lenny to use that throw in the bronze final, he would be a fantastic coach…Tell Zack thanks from us please” Jenine Pink,
  • “…a great little coach in the making!!” Anthony Pink
  • “…please thank Zack for all his help with Emma she really appreciated it and said he helped her loads” Jade Nunn

  • Winning the gold at the British Championships gains Zack a place on the England squad for 2018 and he also hopes to be selected for the GB squad and to compete internationally. Attached is his calendar of competitions his coaches anticipate he will be selected for next year.
